I have been told I need to drink lots of fluids because of kidney malfunction. I have always understood that it is the caffeine in green tea that causes it to be a diuretic. I have always drank nothing but decaffeinated green tea. There should be minimal caffeine in decaffeinated. Therefore, is there anything in the decaffeinated green tea that would cause my kidneys to malfunction?
